Abstract

The article deals with the level of the financial situation of young people in the Republic of Tyva. To assess the material well-being of the respondents, a scale for determining material security was used, consisting of 6 statements divided into 4 levels: extremely low, low, medium and well-off. It was revealed that most of the young people in Tuva are not satisfied with their financial situation rating it as extremely low and low. A third of the respondents rated their security satisfactorily. In Tuva, there remains a small layer of young people who can be conditionally attributed to the middle class. The share of wealthy young people is insignificant (5.2%). The results of the study confirm that the representatives of the affluent strata of young people have an educational level not lower than incomplete higher education. The level of material wealth of the younger generation in rural areas is lower than that of their peers in urban areas. The provision of material goods also differs depending on the nationality. Young people of Russian nationality have a higher level of material wealth than representatives of the Tuvan nation. The high degree of agreement of young people with the statement that the most profitable way to improve their financial situation is to get education, indicates the importance of knowledge and high qualifications in the minds of young people. It is gratifying that the young people of Tuva have developed achieving motivations.
