Abstract

Scientific biographies comprise an important part of the literature on the history of science and technology. A number of publications such as B. G. Kuznetsov’s book about A. Einstein can be regarded as classics of the genre. The author of this paper describes his own experience of working on the books about S. A. Vekshinskii and V. K. Zworykin, based on which the documentaries were shot. Having begun to collaborate with the “Civilization” TV show, the author of this paper took part as a scientific adviser in the production of the films from the series “The Secret Physicists”, “Geniuses and Villains”, etc. The paper emphasizes that the rapid development of information technologies is conducive to the expansion of audiovisual methods of information transmission, including for reconstructing the personalities of the scientists and important figures in technology.
