- Abstract
- This article describes the development of science and technology museums from the late 18th to the early 20th century. The process refl ected the successive stages in the ongoing scientifi c-technical revolution as well as the infl uence of varied socio-economic factors and developments in the UK, Germany, USA, and Russia. Taking into account modern experiences and the current economic situation, the article discusses the possibility of establishing a museum of contemporary science.
