- Abstract
- The published proceedings of the Society of Natural History, founded at Moscow University in 1863, constitute a very interesting and not fully explored historical source. Besides scientifi c articles on zoology and botany, hydrology, anthropology and ethnography, the journal published regular reports on the societys meetings with important information on scientifi c, social, and cultural life in Moscow in the latter half of the 19th century. Proceedings also published works on the history of science, including the fi rst biobibliographic thesaurus of Russian zoologists.
