Abstract

The article reviews the major results and trends of the studies and interpretations of medieval Russian travelogues by historians from other countries. These works are important for our understanding of the history of what was known in Russia of the 12 ^th - 15 ^th centuries about the outside world, including Byzantium, Asia Minor, Egypt, Palestine, Italy, Germany, and other countries.
