- Abstract
- Historical and sociological analysis of reforms in Russian science during the last 20 years includes data from annual reviews of academic institutions and from sociological polls conducted by the Center for Science Studies at the St. Petersburg branch of the Institute for History of Science and Technology. Some preliminary conclusions can already be formulated regarding the effectiveness of the recent «Pilot project on rationalizing the system of work compensation for employees of scientific institutions, 2006-2008». The article also discusses the results of scientific developments in Russia in recent years and conditions that can support innovative development of the country's economy.
