- Abstract
History and archaeology are theoretically not divided In our country. They are considered as one discipline. In practice this leads to strong dilettantism in studies, in which the specifity archaelogical records is ignored. Mearging together is dangerous for both disciplines. Archaeology is a source knowledge, but not the history of the material culture or the history written with the use of archaeological sources. History is the science of synthesis integrating information of various disciplines, i. e. of different kinds of records.
