- Abstract
The paper, devoted to the 165th anniversary of birth of the famous engineer V. G. Shukhov (1853–1939), introduces for the first time a memorial collection of items that belonged to Shukhov from the PJSC LUKOIL Museum. This collection includes a Fabergé silver gift frame with the images of Shukhovs’ most significant inventions, the information on which is provided in the paper, a Verascope stereo camera, a Butenschön pocket level, a drafting kit, and other items. The paper offers brief historical and technical characteristics of these items that demonstrate different aspects of Shukhov’s creative engineering thinking and sheds light on the world of his interests. Special attention is given to the role of photography in his life and professional activities.
