- Abstract
The paper is devoted to a brief episode in the life of a prominent Russian scientist D. N. Anuchin that had dramatically changed the direction of his research: his transfer from the Department of Anthropology of the Physico-Mathematical Faculty of Moscow University to the Department of Geography and Ethnography of the Historico-Philological Faculty. The circumstances surrounding this transfer as well as the role of Anuchin’s teacher A. P. Bogdanov are analyzed.
