- Abstract
- By using Vernadsky as a case-study the paper analyses complex evolution of scholar's values and ideas in a totalitarian regime. It explores a combination of intellectual, social, political, economic and psychological factors that prompted prominent scholars to collaborate with the authorities in order to retain opportunities for conducting research in fundamental sciences.
