Abstract

The article assesses the development of Trumpism as the ideological platform of the Republican party and determines which of the proposed scenarios is most consistent with the situation in the United States during the 2022 midterm elections. The key question that the author asks is how influential D. Trump is in his party and does he control his electorate, that is important, because the phenomenon of Trumpism and the personality of D. Trump are two concepts which cannot exist in isolation from each other.
