- Abstract
The author of the article presents a historical overview of the US doctrinal approach to policy towards Ukraine, highlighting two keynotes that involve cooperation and rivalry with Russia. The military assistance provided at present by the United States to Ukraine is also being considered from the point of view of US policy towards Russia. The article characterizes the main programs of American military assistance to Ukraine and the prospects for its build-up focusing on strategic benefits for the United States.
