Abstract

The globalization of the world economy has become a key trend in social development at the end of the last century. The growing fragmentation of production and the transnationalization of companies have led to the fact that global value chains have begun to play a special role in the structure of the world economy. Such international cooperation has made it possible to increase the efficiency of production processes and improve trade relations between countries. In recent years, digitalization and the return of industrial production (reshoring) from developing countries to the United States and Western European countries have become a fundamental trend in the development of the world economy, which fundamentally change its structure and approaches to creating added value. It affects the reorganization of global value chains and the volatility of international relations. The article analyzes the factors influencing the specifics of countries' participation in global value chains in modern conditions. Also, with the help of econometric modeling, the degree of influence of the selected factors on the level of participation of countries in global value chains was revealed.
