- Abstract
The article analyses the reasons of creation Japanese-American Military-political Alliance, the factors, which are conductive for its existence after a conclusion in the year 1951 the first Treaty on security guarantee between Japan and the Unites States.
In present times «successor» of this treaty the Treaty of mutual cooperation and security between Japan and the Unites States which was concluded in the year 1960 constitutes the foundation of the Alliance relations between Tokyo and Washington.
The article analyses the content of these treaties, the obligations of the participants according the articles of the treaties and evolution of the interpretations of mutual obligations in accordance with changes in international situation and relations in Asia-Pacific region.
With it all, the article evaluates the growing possibilities of Japan to play more independent role in bilateral alliance and reasons why Tokyo is not taking steps to realize them.
