- Abstract
Modern agriculture plays an essential role in the functioning of Canada's food system and the ensuring household food security as well as the expansion of agricultural exports. The article describes the specialization and the distribution of agricultural production in the provinces of Canada and the territories of the Arctic zone of the country. Particular attention is paid to the development of urban agriculture, which is considered in some cases to be an element of the action plan to combat climate change.
