Abstract
The results of the Russo-Japanese war changed the geopolitical situation and contributed to the further growth of the infl uence of Japan and America in the Asia-Pacifi c region. For the formation of the effective mechanism of counteracting this process and the protection of their interests the government of the Russian Empire in 1907 began to administrative-territorial reorganization of the Far East. One of the aspects of it was founded in 1909 the Kamchatka region.
