Abstract
Due to the "shale revolution" the US could declare itself as an exporter of liquefied natural gas (LNG). The premium market for its commercial realization in Asia-Pacific region are the largest importers of LNG - Japan and South Korea. Due to the economic features of American LNG projects the US identified the development trend of the LNG trade in the region and the country's political leadership intends to use its export to ensure the "energy dominance" of the United States. The article aims to assess prospects for making LNG exports a tool of economic and political influence of the United States in the Asia Pacific region.
