Abstract
The paper describes the stages and milestones in the researchers’ work at the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory that was conducted within the framework of the OST‑1 experiment at the Salyut‑4 space station. The solar telescope used in this work was intended for the studies within a wide spectral range from vacuum UV to IR region. The paper describes the specifics of operating this solar telescope to obtain the stigmatic UV spectra from the selected areas of solar surface, and the achievements of CAOʼs scientists, particularly the successful experiments with applying new reflective layers to both mirrors of the telescope. CAOʼs contribution to the development of the Soviet space program is identified.
