- Abstract
- This article examines ideological discussions in Soviet science around 1950 that affected a number of academic disciplines, including philosophy, biology, and linguistics. It attempts to overcome some of the existing stereotypes in their interpretation. The authors also devote particular attention to the infl uence those discussions had on regional science and analyze the responses of local academic circles to the campaigns initiated at the center.
