Abstract

This paper presents a brief historical review of the projects of air-and-groundtransportation systems based on the electric aircrafts mechanically connected to theground. This concept that emerged in the 19th century has been present in aviationthroughout its entire history. However, air road projects that had never beenimplemented and possessed obvious drawbacks have been almost completely ignoredby the historians of aviation. Today, with the beginning of actual development ofelectric aviation, such projects were given a new lease of life.
