Abstract
The two note-books are the subject of the paper. The first one is the diaries by Polish captain Anjey, the hero of the A. Vaida's film Katyn who has been executed by NKVD in 1940 in the Soviet Union. The second one is the diaries (1941-1943) of the Soviet engineer lieutenant Alexey who was on the active service during the whole war (he was the author's stepfather). A. Vaida's views upon this film and those times are quoted. Non-evident comparison of these two diaries is integrated with the line of reflections on the lifelong burden carried by children and grandchildren of victims and of butchers of those times.
