- Abstract
Contemporary approaches to the problem of split of two cultures (scientific and technological culture and the culture based on Arts and humanities) and to the problem of construction of unified science are considered. It is argued that ambiguity of gnoseological status and of methodological role of reductionism in scientific cognition and in the progress of science is the main obstacle blocking the progress in this field.
