- Abstract
- The article focuses on current terminological vocabularies used in scholarly classifications of ethnic communities. The author pays special attention to the state of research on ethnic subdivisions and identities of the Russian people and explicates a case method of studying such identities, which has been tested by ethnographers involved in the expert analysis of Russians. She discusses the importance of professional ethnographic analyses in studying issues of the type.
