- Abstract
- The review considers historical dictionaries of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, such as Đuro Daničić’ «Dictionary of the Serbian antiquities», «Dictionary of the Croatian or Serbian language of the Yugoslavian Academy of Sciences», and V. Mihailović’ dictionary of foreign words. It describes main directions of the historical-lexicographic studies: history of borrowings, lexicology of medieval texts, or texts from the eighteenth-nineteenth centuries, continuity of the modern lexica with that one of the period of the birth of the literary language.
